WASHINGTON, D.C. (Enviro Snowflake Brief)—A former EPA executive turned whistleblower has implicated, with evidence, ethics violations by Acting EPA Director, Andrew Wheeler, for hidden investments in “urban breathing mask” Swedish company, Airinum.

The New York Times reported Sunday night recorded conversations exist between Mr. Wheeler and former EPA Head, Scott Pruitt, which may provide evidence of criminal intent.

The anonymous whistleblower told NYT’s ,Maggie Haberman, “Wheeler’s plan was to explode the market for pollution masks in the U.S. by pushing the EPA’s expansive pushback of environmental regulations to accelerate the concentration of toxic fine air.”

Haberman, who heard one recording, says Wheeler is on tape pitching Scott Pruitt to join him, “Airinum’s new M-90 urban breathing mask will marry style with sensibility, even if they don’t work well. Get on board Scott.”

Acting Director Wheeler did not respond to requests for comment, but Scott Pruitt did release a formal statement.

“I did not ever invest or accept stock in Airinum, and the fact I had an aide ask if my wife, Marlyn, could have exclusive rights to start a multilevel marketing business for the new fashion pollution mask is not a crime.”
