WASHNGTON D.C. (Enviro Snowflake Brief- Not Real News)— The National Park Service has been asked to capture and deliver four live grizzly bears from Yellowstone National Park for a “canned hunt” as part of President Trump’s “Salute to America” celebration, according to two individuals familiar with the arrangement.
According to Washington Post reporting, at the behest of President Trump’s sons, Don Jr. and Eric, to their father, a morning July Fourth hunt for several Trump officials and large RNC donors has been ordered by the President.
President Trump was reportedly agitated when Interior Department officials tried to explain to him that grizzly bears were still protected under the Endangered Species Act, which would make such a hunt illegal as well as provide environmentalists with negative optics.
The inside sources at the NPS were told The President stated, “I will override the ESA and waive any and all environmental rules through executive order to make this hunt happen for my boys.”
Trump lamented, “My boys are a bit jealous of Ivanka’s trip with me last week, and they are great boys and they really want this to happen so make this happen for your President.”
If the NPS is able to get Yellowstone personnel to honor President Trump’s request without a threat of mass resignations in protest, the Department of Interior office has arranged with the Pentagon for an Air Force C-5 Galaxy transport plane to deliver the live cargo in time for the morning hunt- arrangements made at the Shady Grove Preserve in Remington, Virginia.
A few of the names leaked who will participate in the hunt, which of course will be hosted by Don Jr. and Eric Trump, are Secretary of Interior David Bernhardt, Assistant Secretary of Interior, Susan Combs (who oversees the Endangered Species Act), and one unnamed high-ranking official from the NRA and one representing the Safari Club.
The sole Democrat who is also rumored to attend the hunt is Presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who told staff, “Uncle Dick in his deer tree stand in heaven wants me to participate.”
The cost of this legally and ethically questionable grizzly hunt for President Trump’s “Salute to America” is unknown yet, but it is incremental to the $2.5 million Park Service entrance and recreation funds already transferred for Trump’s July Fourth D.C. celebration.
